The Mondays

That is generally how I start the week....
Pretty good weekend all in all. Some good gigs (previously mentioned) and got quite a bit of work done. I've been working on some t-shirt designs, a piece for local jaunt-poppers The Hornblower Brothers and various other pieces like the sketches in the below posts. The week before payday is always slightly more productive due to not being able to afford a social life so I'm going to work hard on getting the t-shirt design done this week I think. Yesterday I totally failed to do the two things I set out to do, the zine fair and to finally getting round to watching Slumdog Millionaire. In the absense of any Steve Martin films I watched Ghost World for the billionth time. A film I never seem to get tired of.
Heres some youtube links for a selection of the music keeping my ears full over the weekend...
La Roux: In For The Kill (Skream rmx) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRC2BT1Xp2M
Parts and Labor: Nowheres Nigh - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOiL9q4iFZk
Enjoy!

Crash

Catching Up

Phew. Busy few days so I'm just being to catch up with some uploads of new stuff. I've been messing about with using some bolder color schemes. I've always avoided it for some reason so its quite fun doing coloring in for a change. The first two are up there, more to follow.

So the main reason I've been slack at updating is down to all the awesome stuff that seems to have been dropped on Brighton in the last few days. First of the Black Lips gig in Audio (fast becoming one of my least favorite venues) and then the mighty, mighty Parts & Labor at the Prince Albert (one of my favorite venues, complete with massive new sounds system). Parts & Labor were there for One Inch Badge Record's 2nd birthday so congrats to them for reaching the terrible twos. OIB have got more radness in the shape of Themselves, Health and Vic Chestnut coming to Brighton soon. All highly recommended. Oh and i also scored a ticket for Bon Iver which put a smile on my miserable grill.

Tomorrow is the zine fair which my household is trooping up for.
Art, music and daytime drinking ahead. More slackness expected.

Week 2

Quite nice out today innit. Almost spring-like. Anywho, we're off onto week 2 of the sketch a day project. To be honest I wasn't in the mood really today so this one was done in much less then ten minutes. Not sure if it shows. Probably. I quite like the dog though, he looks like a good dog to have if you're the captain of a small tug boat. It would be probably be called Rusty or Jake and be quite old I think....
Right, roll on friday!

Weekend Slackness

For some reason the days I have the most amount of time (ie. the weekends) are the days I seem to be less productive. So after failing to get the sketch of the day done yesterday I've done two. These were done after a heavy day of hangover, listening to the new Beirut album and my households traditional, sunday afternoon lame Steve Martin film (Cheaper by the Dozen 2 today if you're asking).

Slumdogs

Not a lot happened today really so I thought I might as well draw some dogs rooting around for some of the mysterious treasures that bins hold. Why not eh?

A Sketch a Day

Ahoy hoy

In an effort to keep this better updated and to also keep productivity up I'm setting myself the small challenge of doing a strict 10 minute sketch everyday. The first ones attached, inspired by the weather that soaked me through not once but four times today...
